1970 Maserati Indy

This 1970 Maserati Indy is one of a claimed 436 4.2-liter V8–powered examples produced between 1969 and 1975 and is said to have been initially owned by the former President of Haiti, Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier. The car was subsequently brought to the US and spent time in New Hampshire before being purchased by a previous owner in 1986 and relocated to California. The body has been refinished in red, the interior has been re-trimmed in white leather, and a replacement five-speed ZF manual gearbox has been installed. Power is supplied by a 4.2-liter V8 fitted with quad Weber carburetors, and additional equipment includes 14″ Borrani wheels, dual fuel tanks, power steering, pop-up headlights, power windows, an adjustable steering column, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, and subsequent work is noted to have involved servicing the front brakes along with replacing the clutch assembly, water pump, and springs. Now showing 38k kilometers (~24k miles), this Tipo AM116 is offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, and a clean California title.
